To establish the HPLC fingerprints of Hedyotis diffusa willd. , chromatographic experiments were performed on thermo betabasic C18 column, eluted with acetonitrile and water, containing 0.5% acetic acid as the mobile phases in gradient elution at the flow rate of 1.0 mL・min. 1. The detection wavelength was 360 nm. 13 common peaks were found in the fingerprints of 12 batches Hedyotis diffusa willd. ,and, except planting herbs, good similarities with correlation coefficients higher than 0.9 were found in fingerprints between the herbs from different sources. The methodological evaluation showed that the results were in accordance with the technological requirements of chromatography fingerprint, which has laid a good foundation for quality control of codex fraxini.
