Estudio biológico comparativo de Coccus viridis Green en café y cítricos

Spanish; Castilian. Con la finalidad de conocer algunos aspectos biológicos de Coccus viridis Green en café y cítrico, se llevó a cabo un estudio comparativo de este insecto en ambos cultivos. En el mismo pudo comprobarse que C. viridis completa su desarrollo después de pasar por 3 instares. La duración del ciclo en café comparada con la duración en cítricos resultó ser mayor, observándose una marcada diferencia. El número de días de actividad de la hembra y el número de descendientes por hembra, aunque resultó muy variable, no arrojó diferencia significativa entre los cultivos estudiados.
Show more [+] Less [-]English. In order to know some biological aspect about Coccus viridis Green in coffee and citrus was carried out a comparative study of this insect in both crop. The life cycle of C. viridis in coffee was longer than citrus, the statiscal analysis showed significant difference at the level of 0,01 percent. The reproductive activity and the number of progeny per female was variable but without significant difference. Was comprobated the presence of a pathogenic agent wich is able to kill this insect.
