PRODUCTOS FORESTALES NO MADEREROS EN LA COMUNIDAD SOROA, SIERRA DEL ROSARIO

En la comunidad rural Soroa, situada en la zona oeste de la reserva de la biosfera Sierra del Rosario (RBSR), municipio de Candelaria, Pinar del Río, se realizó un estudio con el fin de obtener información sobre las propiedades y uso de los recursos vegetales y animales del área. Para el trabajo se arribó al problema de que el aprovechamiento de los productos forestales no madereros (PFNM) en la zona no conduce al manejo sostenible de los ecosistemas en la región; por lo tanto el objetivo del trabajo se relaciona con determinar el aprovechamiento de estos productos por los pobladores del lugar. El trabajo confirma que el conocimiento empírico de la población humana sobre las plantas y animales del bosque es una fuente fundamental para determinar científicamente los potenciales usos de las especies consideradas como PFNM.

English. In the rural community Soroa, located in the west area of the reservation of the biosphere Sierra of the Rosario, municipality Candelaria, Pinar del Rio, Cuba, was carried out a study with the purpose of obtaining information on the properties and use of the vegetable and animals resources present in the area. For this work you arrived to the problem that theuse of the products forest non maderables in the area, doesn't lead to the sustainable handling of the ecosystems in the region, therefore the objective of the work is related with determining the use of these products for the residents of the place. This work confirms that the human population'sempiric knowledge on the plants and animals of the forest is a fundamental source to determine the potential uses of the species considered as nonwood forest products, scientifically.
