INFLUENCIA DEL MANEJO DE LA DIVERSIDAD FLORÍSTICA NATIVA EN LOS PROCESOS DE ACIDIFICACIÓN DE LOS SUELOS DE LAS ALTURAS DE PIZARRAS DE PINAR DEL RÍO

Dentro de las características de los suelos, la acidez es muy importante, pues está relacionada con el desarrollo de la vida microbiana y de las diferentes especies vegetales que conviven en los ecosistemas forestales. En el presente trabajo, se exponen los resultados de 34 años de estudios realizados en áreas de la Estación Experimental Forestal de Viñales, con el objetivo de determinar la influencia de la densidad de plantación de Pinus caribaea Morelet y los posteriores manejos silvícolas a que es sometida la especie sobre el pH de los suelos donde se desarrolla la misma en los ecosistemas pizarrosos. Se utilizó un diseño de Bloques Completos al Azar, con 5 tratamientos: (1111, 1333, 1666, 2222, 3333 arb/ha), distribuidos en cuatro bloques y un área inforestal. Este mostró que los manejos inadecuados de P. caribaea Morelet en plantaciones productivas, han contribuido con la acidificación de estos suelos. Los mejores resultados se alcanzaron en las plantaciones establecidas con 1333 arb/ha, manejadas con criterios sostenibles. Por otro lado quedó demostrado que el manejo de la diversidad florística de especies latifoliadas nativas ricas en cationes, contribuyó en gran medida con la mitigación del proceso de acidificación de estos suelos, provocada principalmente por la humificación de las acículas de los pinos.

Inside the characteristics of the floors, the acidity is very important, because it is related with the development of the microbial life and of the different vegetable species that you/they cohabit in the forest ecosystems. Presently work, the 34 year-old results are exposed carried out in areas of the Forest Experimental Station of Viñales, with the objective of determining the influence of the density of plantation of Pinus caribaea Morelet and the later handlings silvícolas to that it is subjected the species on the pH of the floors where the same one is developed in the slate-like ecosystems. A design of Complete Blocks was used at random, with 5 treatments: (1111, 1333, 1666, 2222, 3333 arb/ha), distributed in four blocks and an area inforestal. This showed that the inadequate handlings of Pinus caribaea Morelet in productive plantations, they have contributed with the acidification of these floors. The best results were reached in the established plantations with 1333 arb/ha, managed with sustainable approaches. On the other hand it was demonstrated that the handling of the diversity florística of species rich native latifoliadas in cationes, contributed in great measure with the mitigation of the process of acidification of these floors, provoked mainly for the humificación of the acículas of the pines.
