This work is focused on a specfic type of Fagus sylvatica monocultures Fagetum nudum wherein soil chemicophysical properties as pH, exchangeable basis and cation exchange capacity are assessed. The assessment was realized on research plots of West Carpathian sub-province. Results are discussed with classification of Fagetum nudum as a type of acidophilus beech forest. We can see a high dfference of topsoil chemism of Fagetum nudum in comparison with a beech forest with an understory cover density higher than 15%. Observed sites of naked beech forest show higher trophic properties and higher values of pH as well as higher available nutrients contents. This paper is concluded with an accent on a nature of beech forest and an anthropic influence in the past which can cause a similar perception of naked beech monocultures however potentially present phytocoenoses would be different.
