An economical study of production of summer potato crop by using organic agriculture technique

Because of limited natural resources, agricultural lands and water in particular, to cope with the increasing demand for food due increase of population, therefore, chemical fertilizers and pesticides were heavily affected health of human, animals and environment. So organic agriculture become a main demand. Area of summer organic potato was about 1603 feddan in average -2007. The productivity per feddan was about 10.4 tons and the total production 1996was about 17.257 thousand ton . The most important variables that affected the total production of summer potatoes were the cultivated area and local price during the period of 1996 to 2007. The total. costs was about LE 559.51 per ton on average for the same period. The net revenue was about LE 500.07 per ton, and net revenue of spend pound was about LE 0.89 on the economic efficiency indicators of producing summer organic potatoes.
