In the present study, results from a genome-wide eQTL scan in the pig gluteus medius muscle of a Duroc population have been further analysed in order to detect associations to lipid metabolism and meat quality traits variation. The functional classifications revealed that lipid-related GO terms and pathways were amongst the most enriched in the list of eQTLregulated genes. Subsequently, a positional concordance study between eQTL and QTL linkage maps, and a correlation analysis between phenotypes and expression levels have been carried out. These studies allowed us identifying genes whose expression levels and eQTL-regulators are expected to be directly related to the studied phenotypes. These results represent a first step towards understanding how gene networks and molecular mechanisms involved in lipid metabolism influence variation of meat quality traits in our population.
