Seeds of various crops pose special problems in implement design because of their diversity in shape, size moisture content and maturity status. Researchers have directed their effort towards evaluating the basic physical properties of various grains and have indicated the practical utility of such information in agricultural implements and structural design and in processes and control engineering. Physical properties such as size weight, angle of repose, sphericity, density, volume and angle of friction of selected crops and varieties for design purpose are reported.
