A Study on the Teachers' Recognition of Multicultural Family Students' Self esteem and School Life Adjustment

The purpose of this study is to examine the self esteem and school life adjustment in multicultural family students in elementary and secondary schools for establishing self esteem in terms of teacher, and is to offer basic data for improving teachers' recognition in order to enhance self esteem in multicultural family students on the school and for pursuing guidance plan for school life adjustment. The research subjects were 300 teachers who educate multicultural family students at 20 elementary and middle schools in the eastern part of Jeonnam. The data analysis was carried out by SPSS Win 15.0 program. The results of this study are as follows. The teachers have recognized positive about the self esteem and school life adjustment of multicultural family students. The teachers in countryside recognized more positive than the teachers in a city about self esteem of multicultural family students. The self esteem which teachers perceived influence on school life adjustment. As a result of the above research, to enhance self-esteem and school life adjustment in multi-cultural family students, the teachers' assistance is needed desperately in order to possibly enhance their autonomy and positivity by arranging conditions for which their special skill and aptitude can be fully displayed and used the most.
