English. Greenery has a very significant value in urban environment. A topical problem nowadays is a qualitative greenery system in the central part of city with high building and traffic density. The most subjected greenery element by negative environment factor impact is street trees. The aim of the research – to find out the vitality of common lime (Tilia x vulgaris) in the street greenery of Riga and the influence of factors (supply with nutrients, de-icing salts, air pollution) affecting it. The work shows the results of the research on the vitality of common lime in the street greenery and factors affecting it, as well as the historical development of the system of the street greenery in Riga. The study on the factors affecting the vitality of the street trees was done in eight street greenery sites located in the central part of Riga from November 2004 to September 2009. One site located in a park area (Viestura Garden) was chosen as a background level. The research is based on fieldwork (assessment of leaf and crown necrosis, crown defoliation and dead branches), the results of chemical analysis of snow, soil, bark and leaf samples, as well as dendroanalysis. Statistical analysis as well as principal component analysis was done for the results. Based on the present work it was stated that the vitality of Tilia x vulgaris in the street greenery of the central part of Riga can be characterized as damaged. The research revealed a high heterogeneity of chemical composition of the snow, soil and leaves of the trees even within one street section. Different migration intensity of chemical elements in the system snow sheet – soil – plant was found. It was concluded that systematic application of de-icing salts to prevent ice formation on streets was a significant factor, which negative influenced physiological status of lime trees in the central part of Riga causing disturbances in plant nutrition, promoting development of leaf necrosis and decaying of tree crown, therefore decreasing their ecological and landscape value. As concluded from the research results, for the visual observation of the necrosis of Tilia x vulgaris leaves the critical level concentration for Na is 0.18 % to 0.24 % and for Cl- – 0.62 % to 0.66 %.

Latvian. Urbānā vidē ļoti svarīga nozīme ir apstādījumiem. Mūsdienās aktuāla problēma ir kvalitatīvas apstādījumu sistēmas izveide pilsētas centrā, kur parasti ir vislielākais apbūves blīvums un satiksmes intensitāte. Vides stresa negatīvajai ietekmei visvairāk pakļauti ir ielu malās augošie koki. Promocijas darba mērķis – noskaidrot Holandes liepu (Tilia x vulgaris) vitalitāti Rīgas ielu apstādījumos un dažādu vides faktoru (nodrošinājums ar barības elementiem, ielu kaisīšana ar sāls maisījumu, gaisa piesārņojums) ietekmi uz to. Promocijas darbā atspoguļoti ielu apstādījumos augošo Holandes liepu vitalitātes un to ietekmējošo faktoru izpētes rezultāti, kā arī Rīgas ielu apstādījumu sistēmas vēsturiskā attīstība. Ielu apstādījumu ietekmējošo faktoru pētījums veikts no 2004. gada novembra līdz 2009. gada septembrim astoņās Rīgas centra ielu apstādījumu vietās, savukārt fona situācijas raksturošanai izvēlētas liepas, kas aug Viestura dārzā. Darbs balstīts uz lauka pētījumiem (koku vainaga un lapu nekrozes, vainaga defoliācijas un zaru atmiruma novērtējums), sniega, augsnes, koku mizas un lapu paraugu ķīmisko analīžu datiem; kā arī dendroanalīzi. Veikta iegūto datu statistiskā analīze un komponentanalīze. Pamatojoties uz veikto pētījumu rezultātiem, secināts, ka vairumā gadījumu Holandes liepu vitalitāte Rīgas centra ielu apstādījumos bija vērtējama kā slikta. Darbā noskaidrots, ka sniega, augsnes un lapu ķīmiskais sastāvs Rīgā ir ļoti neviendabīgs un stipri atšķirīgs pat vienā ielas posmā. Konstatēta dažāda ķīmisko elementu migrācijas intensitāte sistēmā sniegs – augsne – augs. Secināts, ka bieža sāls maisījuma lietošana apledojuma novēršanai ir būtisks faktors, kas negatīvi ietekmē Holandes liepu fizioloģisko stāvokli Rīgas centrā, izraisot traucējumus barošanās režīmā un veicinot lapu nekrozes un koku vainaga atmiršanu, kā arī pazeminot to ekoloģisko un ainavas vērtību. Iegūtie rezultāti liecina, ka par kritisku līmeni vizuāli novērojamiem nekrotiskiem liepu lapu bojājumiem caurmērā var pieņemt šādu Na un Cl- koncentrāciju lapās: 0,18 – 0,24 % Na un 0,62 – 0,66 % Cl-.
