Thanks to advantages offered by district heating systems (hereinafter to as ''DHS'') in countries where climatic conditions require that special attention is paid to heat supply, in particular, in the Baltic countries, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and other West European countries, as well as many CIS countries this is the dominating type of heat supply for providing heat to big cities. However, at many new sites, especially in detached houses are built. The article includes the research of the efficiency aspects of district heating systems.
