Effect of gram powder on growth and yield of oyster mushroom, Pleurotus ostreatus

The maximum number of flushes (7.75 and 7.00) was recorded at 2.5 and 2.0% gram powder followed by 1.5 and 1.05 gram powder i.e. 5.0 (1 and 4.25 (flushes, respectively. Only 2.00 flushes were harvested without amendment of gram powder (control) followed by the lowest (0.5%) amendment dose (3.25 flushes). The minimum time between flushes (6.82 days) was recorded at 2.5% gram powder followed by 2.0% and 1.5% gram powder 7.25 and 7.64 days, respectively. The maximum period between flushes (11.75 and 11.12 days) was recorded in control (without gram powder) and at lowest gram powder amendment (0.5%) followed by 1.0% gram powder (8.21) statistically the results did not showed significant difference between treatments for the period between flushes. The maximum number of bunches per bag (17.00) were harvested with an application of gram powder at 2.5% followed by 2.0% (10.00) and 1.5% gram powder (8.00).
