Simulation modeling, growth, development and yield of different wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars under late sown conditions of Punjab

The crop was sown on 20 December 2005 and harvested at 20th April 2006. A randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replication was used. The treatments were included 15 different cultivars (i.e. lnqalab-91, AS-2002, lqbal-2002, Pasban-90, SH-2002, Wafaq-2002, Ufaaq, GA-2002, Kohistan, Rawal-87, Chakwal-87, Margalla-99, NR-234 and 00125). The plot size was 1.2 m x 2.3m and there were 6 rows in each plot. All the cultivars under study differed significantly from one another with regard to yield components except number of grains per spike and grain yield. Cultivars differed significantly in case of yield components with mean value i.e. plant height (78.33 cm), fertile tillers (285.44 m-2), spike length (43.64), 1000-grain weight (31.76 g), grain yield (2.50 t per ha and total dry mater yield (10.62 t per ha). Cultivars Pasban-90 gave higher yield index (29.96 %) followed by Wafaq-2001 (25.87 %), Margalle-99 (25.64%), Ufaaq (25.27%) and GA-2002 (25.27%). Mean value fo
