Investigation pertaining to determine the influence of planting methods and nitrogen rates on growth and yield of wheat crop variety SH-2002. The four planting methods viz., drilling after two cultivations, kera at zero tillage, drilling at zero tillage and broadcast + bar harrow and three nitrogen rates viz., control, 60 and 120 kg N per ha. There were three replications with plot size measuring 2 x 5m. The crop was sown on 23rd of November, 2005 and harvested on 15th of May 2006. All other agronomic practices were kept normal and uniform. All the four planting methods of wheat under study appeared to be equally good with regards to plant height, number of spikelets per spike, number of grains per spike and protein contents. The maximum number of productive tillers and grain yield was obtained in P1 (drilling after two cultivations).
