The role of satRNA in pathogenesis of Peanut stunt virus (PSV) strains occurring in Poland
2010
Obrepalska-Steplowska, A.,Instytut Ochrony Roslin, Poznan (Poland)
The results revealed that presence of studied satRNA in viral infections is able to influence host response. It has been shown that all tested Polish PSV strains are able to influence host response. It has been shown that all tested Polish PSV strains are able to support the sat RNA's application in all analyzed hosts. The modification of symptoms expressions depended both , on plant and PSV strain tested, as well as on temperature conditions; ranging from weakening to intensification of disease progress. Addition of satRNA to infected plants usually changed viral genomic and subgenomic RNA accumulation. The direction of changes was also host- and PSV-strain-dependent, likewise the temperature of experiments that was an important factor, too. Additional, the attempt was made to elucidate the host's response on PSV/satRNA co-infection
