Influence of conditioning on the output losses during pelleting of plant materials

Paper presents results of studies on the conditioning treatments of plant materials and their mixtures upon the capacity losses, represented by the amount of fines in pellets. It was confirmed for the majority of materials under the study, that steam conditioning in comparison to the simple conditioning with water addition, decreased amounts of fines. The averages values ranged from 2,03 to 4,12 percent for steam conditioning, and from 1,2 to 19,8 percent for water addition.
