The article attempts to present the influence of electronic media on the development of the societys ecological awareness. At the times of globalisation, which is happening in many domains of the social, political, economic and cultural life, the Internet is becoming more and more important. The article contains description of the Internets influence on the ecological knowledge development and its contribution to the evolution of the market, among others to the electronic market evolution. The results of the questionnaire, which was carried out in the Internet, are discussed in the experimental part, as well as the evaluation of the chosen Internet shops with organic food. The Internet is highly regarded as an information source. However, consumers treat information available in the Internet with different credibility, dependent on the age of the respondent. A practical application of electronic media-based ecological education is offered by the Internet organic food retail. It seems that in the age of progressive globalisation this form of trade will increase its importance in the future. The analysis of retail offer of selected Internet stores reveals that these ventures supply primarily preserved and processed food. It has been affirmed that fresh fruit and vegetables are the organic products most popular among the consumers, however, they constitute only a few percent of the total sales
