Quantitative properties analyses of eight genetically divergent clone progeny of ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) were conducted on a trial field and laboratories of the Agricultural Institute of Republic of Srpska in Banjaluka (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The analyses were performed on cambisol soil on alluvial substrate of Vrbas. During 2006-2008, the trials were conducted in order to analyze morphological properties of clone progeny, their phenological traits, yield components and biomass yield (green biomass and dry matter), quality components of dry matter, crude protein yield, energy value of dry matter and other properties. In view of the seed of ryegrass genotypes, tested were the yield components (spike length, number of spikelets per spike, mass of 1000 seeds, seed yield per spike) and seed quality. Furthermore, the correlations between the analyzed properties of biomass yield components, as well as seed yield components were established. During the three-year research, the weather conditions, mainly the quantity and distribution of precipitation during vegetation, had a significant effect on the results of this research. According to the results of this research, genetically divergent genotypes of ruegrass showed significant differences for most of the properties, such as plant heights, stem thickness, leaf length and width, harvesting index, reneration period, spike length, seed yield per spike, etc. Correlations between the analyzed quantitative properties of ryegrass indicated the complexity of inheritable components of yield and quality of biomass, that is seed yield, on which the genotypes, environmental factors, as well as interaction genotype x environment, had major influence.
