The milk thistle seed germination is analyzed by studying reliable factors: the period of keeping and wrapping material. The keeping period had a great influence upon seed germination. The total germination of 94% was characteristic for one year old seed. But the seed with a duration period of seven years had only 10.6% in germination. Examining the seed kept in a paper wrapping we came to a conclusion that the highest reduce in germination was between third and fourth year of keeping (from 87% to 53.8%). Similar relations are obvious in other two ways of keeping too. Wrapping material influenced less upon total germination, but much more expressed when the seed was kept in plastic wrapping. To be more precise, seed kept in plastics had the lowest and seed kept in paper wrapping had the best germination.
