Tractors perform an extremely important role not only in agriculture but also in forestry, in municipal and road maintenance. Very important is the restoration of machinery. Joining of Slovakia into the European Union meant a significant increase in sales of tractors due to subsidies from European funds. Prior to joining the EU does not exceed the sales of 400 pieces per calendar year. In 2008, was a record sale of tractors, when the number of sold units was 1255. Since 1990, is a continuous decrease in the number of tractors deployed in farming business. Since 2004 there is the stagnation in the number of tractors used in agriculture. This situation is caused by increasing the purchase of tractors of higher power and minimizing agro-class operation.
