English. This paper deals with the application of modern materials for the production of valves for internal combustion engines. Also in this paper the analysis of materials that are currently used to produce valves for construction of internal combustion engines that operate in conditions of high load as well as materials that are designed for forced engines is shown. Described materials in this work today are successfully used in making elements of tractor engines. Emphasis is given to materials based on cobalt, nickel, titanium and ceramic. Presented is an overview of the required functions of valves, material requirements to be fulfilled and the technology of producing valves. Microstructure of certain materials and modern ways of applying coatings are also shown.

Data je analiza materijala koji se trenutno koriste za izradu ventila kod konstrukcija motora SUS koji rade u uslovima srednjih opterećenja kao i materijala koji su namenjeni za forsirane motore. Opisani su materijali koji se danas uspešno koriste kod izrade elemenata traktorskih motora. Akcenat je dat na materijale na bazi kobalta, nikla, titanijuma i keramike. Dat je osvrt na tražene funkcije ventila, zahteve koje materijal treba da ispuni kao i tehnologiju izrade ventila. Opisane su mikrostrukture pojedinih materijala kao i savremeni načini deponovanja prevlaka.
