Colour change of beech timber during oscillation drying in the conventional kiln | Promena boje bukove građe pri oscilatornom sušenju u konvencionalnoj sušari

Results of measuring colour change (appearance and development of sandwich effect) during oscillation drying of 38 mm beech timber in the conventional kiln are presented. Drying schedule with starting temperature 37 deg C and final 62 deg C was base for this experiment. Oscillating of EMC was done during process with amplitudes +/- 10% of values in the conventional schedule, and frequency of 3 hours. Apart from visual control of appearance and development of sandwich effect, colorimetric measuring was done using colorimeter with lens radius 20 mm. Results show reduction of sandwich effect compared with conventional schedule without oscillations of EMC.
