The structure of radial, tangential and radial-tangential lumber, depending of the sawing method and beech log quality is presented in the paper. 45 beech logs, 40-49 cm in diameter and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd class quality, are sawed by the different sawing methods: around sawing, cant sawing and live sawing. The results show that on all three ways of sawing there are most tangential lumber, then radial and least radial-tangential lumber.
