Presented in this scientific paper are the results of a study on work effects during chipping forest residue using tractor Same Iron 210 DCR equipped with a mulcher LIPA –AHWI 600 in poplar plantations in Vojvodina region. Chipping of forest residue and removal of brush vegetation has been done in a variety of conditions. Time that was recorded was the time needed to chip the residue that has been piled up, and time needed to chip forest residue that was scattered on the felling site. Besides that, time on jobs of removing the brush vegetation using different methods, mechanized- using mulcher LIPA –AHWI 600with a 2,25m span, semi-mechanizedusing chainsaw and manually, was recorded upon which the analysis and the comparison of the results had been done. Recording had taken place on experimental areas within the territory of SU ‘‘Plavna’’. Method of photo-chronometry has been used in this study along with the method of tributary time measuring. Results acquired by this study show the structure of spent time, accomplished efficiency, daily and unit costs of labor. On the basis of the results of the carried out analysis and their comparison, it results that the effects of labor on chipping of piled up residue are significantly higher, but the participation of physical labor is significantly present. Also, effects of work on removal of brush vegetation are higher when mechanized method is implemented, observed from economic, ecologic and ergonomic aspect.
