Yarn sizing and primarily warp represented preparatory action for the swift development of the process of weaving, without interruption and without loss of time. Paper deals with the synthesis of modified starch through hydrolyze and grafting, and their application in the process of sizing basis and preparation for the process of weaving. The process research consisted of two parts, the first is related to the modification of starch (hydrolysis and acrylamide grafting), while the other dealt with by sizing cotton yarn with follow-up desizing. The aim was to create a new size starting from cheap raw materials that will satisfy the requirements of the process of weaving and process desizing you should download size with raw weaved fabric. The results of the research, analyzed over the examined parameters, such as changes in mass, strength and elongation, dimension stability, fineness, FTIR, microscopy, showed that hydrolyzed, as well as acrylamide grafting corn starch can be used as an agent for sizing cotton yarn. Corn starch acrylamide grafted, has the advantage more and can be classified into potentially gratefully means for yarns sizing.
