Heavy metals and vegetable production | Teški metali i proizvodnja povrća
2009
Maksimović, I.
Environmental pollution with heavy metals, which results from human activities, has serious implications for the production of vegetables. Heavy metals are potentially cytotoxic, carcinogenic and mutagenic, and plants are primarily responsible for their inclusion in food chains. It is therefore essential to understand fully the processes that lead to the uptake, accumulation and translocation of heavy metals in vegetables.
