Biological processes in wastewater treatment dairy industry because of its efficiency are the most optimal method for removal of organic pollution. Wastewater from dairy industry is characterized with high content of biodegradable organic matter, and the efficiency of their degradation is caused by the ability of microorganisms, that with the proper amount of oxygen, formed biomass (active sludge). Adequate concentration of oxygen allows greater activity of microorganisms, and decomposition flows in the direction of complete mineralization of organic matter from wastewater. The usual method of monitoring the decomposition of organic matter (with or without aeration) is performed over the parameters of chemical and biological oxygen demand (HPK and BPK5) as well as through microscopic monitoring of the formation of active sludge, which is present in this paper.
