In 2009, we have analyzed the aphid species frequently occur on fruit trees in gardens and tree lines along the roadsides in suburban places at the vicinity of Novi Sad. At the same time, the entomophagous complex of registered aphids has been monitored. During the season, 9 species of aphids were registered on fruit trees in the study area. The composition of predatory insects associated with aphid colonies consists of 23 species, belonging to 8 families. The population peak of aphids in mid June coincided with the activity of coccinellid adults and larvae, but also with occasionally occurring of green lacewing and hover fly larvae. Results of study indicate that the predatory arthropod community was dominated by Coccinellidae and Syrphidae, with a total of 14 species, 10 of ladybirds and 4 of hover fly larvae. The ladybird community was dominated by Adalia bipunctata L. and Hippodamia variegata Goeze in May and June, at the period of population peak of aphids and by the exotic species Harmonia axyridis Pallas in September and October, at the end of the season. Even though ladybird adults were abundant throughout the season, the only seen eggs and larvae were belonged to A. bipunctata and H. variegata. The rest of 9 predator species belonged to the following families: Cecidomyiidae (1), Chamaemyiidae (1), Chrysopidae (2), Hemerobiidae (1), Anthocoridae (3) and Forficulidae (1).
