The reason for the termination of functional work of a 100 t/day capacity screw press were established by long-term monitoring. It was concluded that the spending of working parts and the supporting parts which are not in direct contact with the raw material, affect the usability of the press. The direct and indirect losses were compared. Based on the analysis of the influence of the dominant mechanism damage, the possible approaches to the sanation of the damaged structural press components were determined.
