Wastewater treatment involves application of elementary processing operations which by their nature may be physical, chemical and biological, and depending on the domain of their application there are several degrees of purification, which can be primary, secondary and tertiary. In secondary treatment processes, biodegradation is the basis for the treatment of wastewater, whose level directly affects the quality of treated wastewater and therefore the efficiency of wastewater treatment.
