Abamectin was developed as an insecticide and acaricide for use on a variety of agricultural and horticultural crops. This is one of active ingredients which is recommended for use in raspberry protection. The products with this active ingredient can be found on the market mostly formulated as emulsion concentrate (EC). Some of the producers recommended using the EC formulation of Abamectin with some kind of adjuvants (natural oils) to improve its efficacy. To overcome the efficacy problem it is possible to try to formulate the active ingredients as oil based suspension concentrate. Oil based suspension concentrate, preferably based on naturally derived oils could improve pesticide efficacy. This type of pesticide formulation contains oil instead of water as in classical suspension concentrate and, typically, has better retention and coverage. In the case of Abamectin, in this investigation soybean oil was used with the mixture of different emulsifiers. The developed formulation was tested according to FAO and WHO recommendations. The obtained physical-chemical characteristics for the above mentioned formulation showed that it is stable and could be used in plant (raspberry) protection. It should be pointed out that there is no product formulated in this way on the market.
