The textile industry generates huge quantities of waste waters in the production process, more than any other industry. It is normal to expect that revival of the textile industry in our country, may raise the contribution of these waste waters in total sum of industrial waste waters. There are only limited data of environment pollution caused by textile industry (clothing and textiles for technical purposes). Waste waters in textile industry are previously polluted by impurities realised during textile refination and also by chemicals used after textile finishing and rinsing. They also have significant concentrations of residues of colored substances which imparts more or less permanent color to fabrics (dyestuffs). In general, the high content of various anorganic and organic chemicals in textile waste waters is important source of environment pollution and can endangers flora and fauna of aquatic systems. Waste waters pollute rivers, lakes, sea and underground waters and enhance the development of micro-organisms that consume oxygen, which leads fish mortality and the occurrence of growth of pathogenic microbes. Therefore, the survival of life on Earth is endangered. According to this concern, waste waters in textile industry should be purified before discharging into recipient subject. There is a lot of new, modern purification methods which do not require extra costs, long processing time or large space. Rationalization of water consumption attains by recycling of regenerated water in the technological process. Countries under transition process like Serbia, should follow trodden paths of developed European countries. Their knowledge, practices and experiences are of great interest and importance.
