Contemporary economic tendencies and development strategies of many countries show the necessity of a uniform regional development. To this effect, this paper indicates that it is essential that rural development and rural tourism should be closely connected and put into function of the sustainable biodiversity exploitation. Potential threats to biodiversty caused by misuse the state-of- the-art technologies applied in agriculture were pointed out along with the dangers that mass tourism could incur.
