Study of the development of apical branches and leaves of Java apple (Syzygium samarangense (Blume) Merr. and Perry) 'Phetchsairung' was carried out, twenty branches were chosen to record the branch diameter, length, leaf number per branch, number of new flushing branches. The width and the length of leaves, the duration of leaf color changing, the greeness index of leaf and the duration of development from new leaf appearance until leaf maturity and falling of twenty leaves at the second internode from the base of new branches were also measured. The results showed that the growth pattern of branches was double sigmoidal curve. The period from flushing until leaf maturity was found within 60 days. The average number of new flushing branches from old branches was 1.2 shoots, and each shoot had the average of 6.9 leaves. Moreover, the rapid growth of leaves was found in the first 20 days and stable in 33 days. The leaves showed greenish red colour in the first 15 days period, and the maximum leaf greeness was found in the average of 154 days from flushing, and the leaf age from flushing until falling was averagely 234 days.
