Simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) process for ethanol production from pretreated Eucalyptus biomass has been assayed using Saccharomyces cerevisiae Sc90. Three concentrations of substrate loadings (5, 7.5 and 10 percent) and three temperature culture (30, 35 and 40 deg C) of Celluclast 1.5 L complemented with Novozym 188 were investigated in order to reach highest ethanol concentration. The study of ethanol production showed that the ethanol concentration 28.47 g/l, ethanol yield 79.01 percent of the theoretical based on the glucose available in pretreated Eucalyptus, was obtained after SSF with 10 percent (w/v) substrate loading at 35 deg C optimum condition. Substrate loading and temperature in SSF should be high in order to reach higher ethanol concentration.
