Remained of formaldehyde after adsorptive extraction by carbonated carbon from rice husks, Typha angustifolia Linn. and Cuperus corybosus Rottb. can be determined by spectrophotometry at 575 nm as monocationic dibenzoxanthylium. The effects of adsorption conditions involving pH (3-9), shaking time, contact time (10-120 minute), concentration of formaldehyde (10-50 mg/L) and weight of adsorbent (20-100 g/L) were reported. Under the conditions, the adsorption process was conformed with Langmuir behaviour of carbonated carbon from rice husks and Typha angustifolia Linn. and conformed with Freundlich behaviour of carbonated carbon from Cuperus corybosus Rottb. under optimum conditions pH were 3,5 and 5, shaking time were 120, 120, and 30 minutes, contact time were 30, 120 and 30 minutes, of carbonated carbon from rice husks, Typha angustifolia Linn. and Cuperus corybosus Rottb. respectively. The result shown that can be adsorped formaldehyde 14.50, 22.24 and 32.71 respectively.
