Reasearches on the biological control of chestnut blight in Black sea region | Karadeniz bölgesinde kestane kanseri (C. parasitica)' nin biyolojik mücadelesi üzerine araştırmalar

English. Biological control of chestnut canker was studied in Black Sea region in the provinces of Artvin, Bartın, Giresun, Düzce, Kastamonu, Ordu, Rize, Samsun, Sinop, Trabzon and Zonguldak where the diseases is widespread. Virulence of the 295 isolates obtained from this region was determined by cultural growth characteristics, apple test, detached stem inoculation, and Bavendamm test. Twenty five of the total 295 isolates were hypovirulent according to the cultural growth patterns. Many groups were formed on the apple test compared to the diameter of the necrosis formed. For this reason differentiation of the hypovirulent isolates could no be made by this method. Variation between the necrosis formed by various isolates on detached stems was so high even fewer numbers of isolates tested and the results obtained with this method were not comparable to the apple test and cultural aspects of the isolates. Isolates formed three groups according to Bavendamm test. The white and dark color growths on this test represent the hypovirulent and virulent isolates, respectively. The results of Bavendamm test with this respect was in accordance with the cultural growth characteristics. But the weak color reaction on Bavendamm test showed both virulent and hypovirulent growth forms.

Kestane Kanserinin biyolojik savaşım çalışmaları Karadeniz bölgesinde kestanenin yaygın olduğu Artvin, Bartın, Giresun, Düzce, Kastamonu, Ordu, Rize, Samsun, Sinop, Trabzon, Zonguldak illerinde yürütülmüştür. Bu bölgeden elde edilen 294 izolatın virülenslikleri kültürel özellikler, elma testi, kesik dal inokülasyon yöntemi ve Bavendamm testi ile belirlenmiştir. Kültürel özelliklerine göre 294 izolattan 25' inin hipovirülent olduğu saptanmıştır. Elma testinde izolatların oluşturduğu nekroz boyları arasında oldukça fazla sayıda farklı gruplar oluşmuştur. Bu nedenle, bu testte hipovirülent izolatların ayrımı belirgin olarak ortaya konamamıştır. Kesik dal inokülasyon yönteminde daha az sayıda izolatla çalışılmasına rağmen izolatlar arası varyasyon çok olmuş ve bu yöntemde elde edilen sonuçlarla elma testi ve izolatların kültürel özelliklerine göre hipovirülentlerinin ayrılması arasında bir paralellik saptanamamıştır. Bavendamm testi sonuçlarına göre izolatlar üç grup oluşturmuşlardır. Bu testte açık ve koyu renkli gelişen izolatlar sırasıyla hipovirülent ve virülent izolatları temsil etmektedir. Bu sonuçlarla izolatların kültürel özelliklerine göre ayrımı uyumlu olmuştur. Ancak Bavendamm testinde orta renkte gelişen izolatların hipovirülent veya virülent olanları görülmüştür.
