Weed hosts of Verticillium dahliae Kleb. in potato fields in Erzurum province | Erzurum ilinde patates tarlalarında Verticillium dahliae Kleb.'nın yabancı ot konukçuları

This study was conducted to determine weed hosts of Verticillium dahliae Kleb.in potato fields in Erzurum Province, and to test vegetative compatibility groups and pathogenicity on potato of V. dahliae isolates. Isolation was made from 15 weed species. Totally, 21 isolates of V. dahliae were obtained from Cirsium arvense, Convolvulus arvensis, Chenopodium album, Polygonum lapathifolium and Sinapis arvensis. Among these, 15 were isolated from a perennial weed, C. arvense showing wilt symptom. V. dahliae isolates were subjected to the test of vegetative compatibility group (VCG), and totally 74 mutants having 59 nit1 and 15 nitM were determined. At the end of mating of these mutants with test isolates, 10 isolates from group VCG 4A and 11 isolates from VCG 2B were recognized. The dipping method was applied to Marfona potato cultivar to determine pathogenicity of the isolates of V. dahliae obtained from weeds. The isolates of VCG 4A and VCG 2B showed disease symptoms on potato, but there was no differences between the groups for disease severity statistically.

Turkish. Bu çalısma ile, Erzurum ilinde patates tarlalarında Verticillium dahliae Kleb.'nın yabancı ot konukçuları tespit edilip, etmenin vejetatif uyum gruplarının belirlenmesi ve patateste patojenitelerinin test edilmesi amaçlanmıstır. Erzurum ilinde patates tarlalarından toplanan 15 yabancı ot türünden izolasyonlar yapılmıstır. Cirsium arvense, Convolvulus arvensis, Chenopodium album, Polygonum lapathifolium ve Sinapis arvensis olmak üzere 5 yabancı ot türünden 21 V. dahliae izolatı elde edilmistir. Toplam 21 izolatın 15 adedi çok yıllık bir bitki olan ve solgunluk simptomu da gözlenen C. arvense'den izole edilmistir. V. dahliae izolatları vejetatif uyum grubu (VCG) testine tabi tutulmus, bu izolatlardan 59 tane nit1, 15 tane nitM olmak üzere toplam 74 mutant olusturulmustur. Bu mutantların test izolatlarıyla eslestirilmesi sonucu 10 izolatın VCG4A, 11 izolatın ise VCG2B grubunda oldugu ortaya konmustur. Yabancı otlardan elde edilen V. dahliae izolatlarının patateste patojenitelerinin belirlenmesi için Marfona çesidine daldırma metodu uygulanmıstır. Her iki gruba ait izolatlar patateste hastalık olusturmus, ancak gruplar arasında hastalık siddeti yönünden fark bulunmamıstır.
