Application of hydrological models tocalculate water balance and proposal for water resources regulation - case study : the upper part of dong nai basin belong to Dac Nong province

Study on water balance has been considered as one of key contents in integrated water resources management. The approach and methodologies, herein, include statistical analysis and hydrological models in conjunction with the GIS technique. The upper part of Dong Nai basin belong to Dac Nong province, where water resources has been increasingly exploited for irrigation, hydropower, domestic use and mine ores ect, is selected as a case study. With the discharges simulated from NAM in the period of 27 years and the water demands at present and up to 2020, MIKE Basin resulted in water balance according to various scenarios and probabilities. These play an important role to propose water resources regulation for sustainable socio - economic development in the studied area and the Dong Nai basin as well.
