Estimate of Newly Bred Lines of Oriental Tobacco – Biological Characteristic

The biological characteristic of 4 newly lines of oriental tobacco and a cultivar Plovdiv 7 - control - are investigated in 2005-2007 at the Tobacco and Tobacco Products Institute, Plovdiv. It was determined that the newly bred lines are of higher value in some parameters- height, number of leaves and the yield then the control - Plovdiv 7. The presented characterization of newly bred lines can be used to plant successfully their spreading as well as to evaluate them as a source material in plant breeding. Line 380 is approved as a new variety Plovdiv 380.
