The data are given on change of herbicide assortment recommended for application in winter wheat (Triticum aestivum) crops under conditions of the Republic of Belarus in the course of more than 20 years. Its improvement took place at the cost of preparations based on new active ingredients, appearance, creation of new combinations with different mechanisms of action on plants, the appearance of analogous preparations of already known active ingredients, use of antidotes and surface active substances as the components of herbicide preparations and purified isomer preparations. At present the dominant volumes in winter wheat crops comes with herbicides based on isoproturon, diflufenican, pendimethalin, prosulphocarb, flurochloridon and their mixtures with other herbicides what has allowed to carry out the control on 71,1 % of winter wheat crops in autumn period. The herbicides of sulfonylurea group run second applied both in pure form and in mixture with other group herbicides.
