In course of the research there was studied a collection material of winter rape (Brassica napus) of different ecological and geographical origin basic parameters of the model of a promising variety for food purposes for wide-row sowing (113 samples). The research was realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. As a basic variety the most widespread in Belarus ecologically plastic Leader variety of winter rape was used, which harmoniously combining high efficiency, winter hardiness indicators and corresponding to the quality world standards. As a result of the research it was revealed that the parameters were higher than standard varieties in productivity by 10-15%, in winter hardiness by 5-15%, in oil content by 1.5-4% and in other features. It was found, that to the greatest degree (r = 0) such signs as quantity of pods on a plant, mass of 1000 seeds, diameter of a root neck, and in adverse years - winter hardiness correlated with efficiency of samples of a collection material. Potential genetic sources for the implementation of the model were identified.
