The problem of search in nature of active entomopathogens - regulators of number of harmful insects - remains actual not only from a position of biomethod perfection, but also from the point of view of their natural variety which has been not full studied by this time, including in Belarus. The analysis of the domestic and foreign literature has shown that entomopathogenic nematodes thanks to high pathogenicity are effective agents of biological control of many species of harmful insects. In course of long-term research there was studied species diversity and spreading of entomopathogenic nematodes on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, their biological activity. The research was realized in 1996-2008 in the six regions of Belarus (Minsk, Mogilev, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Brest regions). As a result of realized research the collection of entomopathogenic nematodes which includes 22 local strains and isolates from families Steinernematidae and Heterorhabditidae was created. The invasive activity of isolates and strains of S. carpocapsae and S. feltiae was studied in relation to different order pest insects. It was shown that phytophages from four systemic orders Diptera Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera and Coleoptera were susceptible to entomonematodes. Perspectivity of entomopathogenic nematodes application as the biological protection agent was determined.
