Poultry is one of the most effective branches of animal husbandry, especially broiler keeping. Along with this, duck breeding appears one more trend of poultry, developing in the Republic of Belarus. Birds are notable for prematurity, good vitality and unpretentiousness. Stock breeding of the birds in the republic is aimed on the development of existing breeds and crosses, adapted to intensive conditions of feeding and housing. Development of evaluation criteria of 46-days aged ducklings according the complex of selection characteristics is presented. 100-poits scale of duckling's estimation is offered. Productivity level of ducklings themselves and parental characteristics (fertilization, egg-laying capacity, brood of ducklings) is evaluated. Active distribution of ducklings by summarized evaluation is presented. Complex evaluation and live weight of rearing ducklings is shown. Parental productivity of adult birds is analyzed. The application of the selection program of ducklings of lines of cross Temp enables to raise such indices as weight, weight of eggs, egg production and to lower the age of sexual maturity maintaining the initial level of reproductive qualities of birds. Realized in course of the study selection made it possible to increase live weight of the ducklings at 46-day old age on 2,9-4,1% for males, and on 4,5-4,7% for females. Over three generations the average complex index of evaluation of replacement ducklings of paternal line increased on 5,4-6,4 grades, and duckling of maternal line - on 3,4-4,8 grades.
