In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was analysed optimal plant stand density of maize (Zea mays) grown for grain. In course of the study there were analysed two hybrids of different ripening groups: FAO 180 (Klifton) and FAO 220 (Eurostar). In course of the study there were analysed data on influence of sowing terms on the duration of presowing periods and field germination rate of seeds of different maize hybrids. Also in course of 2009-2011 there was analysed influence of plant stand density and sowing terms on dry matter yields of the experimental hybrids. There were presented data on variability of yielding capacity of maize grownf for grain under the influence of weather conditions, plant stand density, sowing terms and earliness of ripening. The researches in the central part of Belarus have shown that the highest maize yield can be obtained at sowing of early-ripening hybrids (FAO 180) in the early period (19-20 April). The optimum stand density allowing to obtain the best economic parameters is 75-90 thousand/ha.
