Fouling abundance on stones, chlorophyl content and balance between mineral and organic components of periphyton on stones and macrophytes in littoral of a mesotrophic lake were estimated in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. There were analyzed average indexes of periphyton density on reed and stones and chlorophyl content in summer 2009. There was estimated chlorophyll content in dry mass of perypyton in the lake Myastro. There was established average weight value of ash in periphyton on reed and stones. Research results showed that periphyton density on stones was higher than on reed and chlorophyl content in dry mass of reed fouling was higher than on periphyton on stones. The periphyton on stones was more abundant than on reed; on the contrary, the chlorophyll content was higher in reed periphyton. Ash content was relatively equal in periphyton on both types of substrate. There were no differences between balance of ash and organic matters in periphyton.
