Making possible the routine genetic transformation of cassava
1997
Henshaw, G.G | Taylor, N.J.
The research described here has produced a technique, the production of embryogenic material from diploid tissue, that has been the key in making cassava transformation possible. It is being used in laboratories throughout the world that are working on the genetic transformation of cassava. The use of genetic transformation in cassava is particularly important given the difficulties of conventional breeding in a clonal crop such as cassava and the severe biotic constraints to cassava production that can be solved by genetical means.
