Faunistic and taxonomic studies on whiteflies (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) of the south-east provinces of Iran.

In the current study, 13 species of whiteflies (Hem.: Aleyrodidae) belonging to eight genera were collected from Sistan-Balouchestan and Hormozgan provinces in Iran. These species belong to the subfamily Aleyrodinae, of which four species, viz. Tetraleurodes sp. n. 1, Acaudaleyrodes sp. n. 2, Bemisia sp. n. 3 and Tetraleurodes sp. n. 4, are new to science, and two species, Aleuroclava psidii (Singh) and Crescentaleyrodes paulianae (Cohic), are newly recorded from Iran. Furthermore, this is the first report of the genera Crescentaleyrodes David & Jesudasan and Tetraleurodes Cockerell from Iran. Identification keys to the genera and species, as well as a distribution map for each species are presented.
