Optimal and sustainable utilization from aquatics resources in each water ecosystem is depends on recognition of biologic and environmental features of resources and finding their relations, also we need to planning and activity in other fields of fisheries development. Attaining necessary information from environment situation and conditions only is possible through research activities and in fact is a guide for attaining fisheries managing goals as best as possible. Generally, research, education, training and knowledge extension are among those process which through its operation could provide technology and promotion in utilization rate from natural, human and material capitals. Iranian Fisheries Research Organization (IFRO) which organized in accordance with goals and development plans of Iran Fisheries, at the present time holds 3 Specialized Research Center, 4 Research Center, 2 Individual Research Stations and one Processing Research National Center of Aquatics and another center in the field of developing research on coldwater fishes, in the North and South parts of Iran is engaged in work. Among the important goals of IFRO, we can point out to performing scientific-applied research subjects to related objects with aquatic creatures and their environment for protection and re-building their stocks and sustainable use of Iranian Fisheries through aquatic ecosystems. IFRO affiliated research centers in the south coasts of the Caspian Sea, hold 205 researchers and senior research scientists.
