Investigation of Tolerance in commercial variety of sugar beet to powdery mildew disease

powdery mildew is widespread disease in sugar beet growing area in iran. The damage of the disease is considerable. In order to evaluate resistance of the sugar beet varieties on experiment was conducted with 9 treatments in complete block design with four replication. Disease severity index(DSI) was estimated late august. The results showed SI's of the genotypes 14442, 27055 and 27056 are 35, 42 and 49 respectively and lower than others. The root yield of sugar beet variety, F-2055, with 57.08 t/ha was highest and genotype 27056 with 31.2 t/ha was the lowest of them. F-20550 produced 9.7 ton sugar per/ha, and was the highest of them. The genotype 27056 produced 5.34 ton sugsr per/ha, and was the lowest of them.
